With spring finally in the air, we are excited to share the news that Handmade Arcade is in the house at “Craftwerk 2.0,” a new exhibition exploring the global resurgence of Craftivism and DIY production, on view now at the Jonkoping County Museum in Sweden! Cheers to all HAers for helping to represent Pittsburgh’s thriving indie craft community in a country where good design rules. If anyone is heading over to the fair Scandinavian nation, please check out the exhibition and do let us know!

The vendors for Handmade Arcade 2009 have been chosen! If you are a HA applicant and haven’t gotten your notification yet, drop us an email.
It gets harder and harder to choose every year. We received nearly 250 applications from awesome and talented crafty peeps and filled 80 spots. We’ll be making the vendor list public soon, so keep an eye out!
Thanks to everyone who applied to HA:09. We received almost 250 applications and look forward to going over every last one of them. We’ll be notifying everyone of their application status by October 28. I’m on pins and needles!

The application is up and we’re ready to go with the official announcement of the 2009 Handmade Arcade.

We’ll be at the Hunt Armory in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh again.
We thank you all for your encouragement over the last month and your amazing suggestions of possible venues. In the end, we decided that having a space that we knew, given the decreasing amount of planning time, would be best. We worked with the folks (and soldiers) at the Hunt Armory and found a Saturday when we would be able to take over their space.
